West Milford — While reconstruction of the ShopRite store at 23 Marshall Hill Road in West Milford continues at an amazing pace, the store management and staff are doing their best to maintain business as usual.
That the store continues to remain open throughout the construction period appears to be an accomplishment in itself.
It is open daily from 7 a.m. to midnight.
For those who cannot cope with the ongoing changes in location of products or areas as phases of the work continue and change, people can take advantage of the Home Delivery Service the store offers.
Among the completed renovations are the produce, deli and bakery sections.
Asked how the job is going, an on the job worker told the West Milford Messenger that it is going well, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.
When the job started late last year, it was expected it would take nine months to complete and it would be done by the end of this summer.
The size of the 30-year-old store is growing by 4,000 square feet. The main entrance is redesigned with an updating of the 1960s façade.
The part of the building complex that formerly housed the popular “Frank’s Pizza” restaurant is becoming part of the store. The pizzeria is relocating to the end of the building.
ShopRite is the largest retailer of food in New Jersey and has been for about 20 years and also has been number one in the entire New York Metropolitan Area since 2011.
