Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Parish hosted Woman’s Cornerstone, a 26-hour retreat, from Friday, Sept. 18 to Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at The Warwick Center, in Warwick, New York, closing with Mass at OLQP Church.

Thirty-four women gathered for sharing, spiritual renewal and personal growth. They enjoyed time for quiet reflection, prayer, reading scripture, and group discussions.

There was an opportunity to walk the labyrinth, celebrate Reconciliation and delight in the beautiful weather and lovely grounds. A team of women conducted the retreat and shared their stories through witness talks, focusing on personal experiences of God’s love and activity in their lives.

The women returned to their home parish for the closing Mass at 7 p.m. at our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Hewitt. Family, friends and Cornerstone sisters from previous weekends joined the women in giving thanks to God for the many blessings received and the great fellowship and community support experienced by all.

Some comments made by the women who attended included:

“As I look back, I can only imagine how happy Jesus must have been. We prayed, laughed and cried all within minutes of each other. There was music and stories that touched us, each hearing a specific personal message that we most needed at this time. There was also time to reflect on the messages that we received and digest them.”

“By attending the Cornerstone I gained 33 new sisters. This was an awesome opportunity to spend time with sincere and caring woman of various ages and backgrounds. I feel refreshed, renewed and energized.”
