New police officers sworn in

WEST MILFORD — Mayor Joseph Di Donato swore in four new police officers on December 6, 2006. They were appointed to the Department March 20, 2006 and attended the Passaic County Police Academy for Basic Police Training, graduating on August 24, 2006. The new officers include Christopher G. O’Connor, a resident of West Milford a little over three years. He was previously enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, and was employed by the United States Border Patrol in Arizona, before leaving that position in 2003 to return to New Jersey. Amy E. Hancock moved back to West Milford five years ago, having been a resident once before. She has been attending Passaic County Community College in pursuit of a degree in Criminal Justice. Before coming to the police department, Amy was the manager of a local business, owned by her brothers. Suzanne M. Novakowski is a longtime resident of West Milford. Suzanne has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from William Paterson College and has worked in the medical profession since 1994. She is an Emergency Medical Technician and has been a volunteer on the West Milford First Aid Squad and the Township Search and Rescue Unit for many years. Anthony W. Parrello has lived at his present home in West Milford for 19 years. Anthony has a Bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Virginia Tech University, and prior to joining the West Milford Police Department he taught school in Pompton Lakes.
