West Milford Parks and Recreation will again be sponsoring a Kidsafe Karate program this fall. The program will be offered on Monday afternoons from September 26 to December 12. The program is designed for boys and girls ages 5 to 14 and is designed to enhance self-esteem, self-discipline and safety awareness. Students are placed into classes according to age and ability. A black belt instructor teaches beginning, intermediate and advanced techniques for self-defense only. Self-discipline and defense, rather than aggressiveness, are promoted. The cost for each ten week session will be $65 for West Milford residents and $75 for non-residents. Uniforms are not necessary, but are recommended and will be available for purchase. Registration forms are available at the Parks and Recreation Office. For more information call 973-728-2860.
