On Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 4:20 p.m. the West Milford Police Department received a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. The incident happened in the parking lot at 1005 Union Valley Road. P.O Joseph Nevin and P.O. William Greer were the first responding officers. WMFAS 49 and ALS 902 were dispatched to the scene. Due to the extent of the victim's injuries NorthStar Helicopter was requested. Initial investigation revealed that a 1995 green pickup operated by Morgan L. Storms Jr., 43 of West Milford had struck Dennis Bosland, 54, also of West Milford. The pickup was backing up at the time of the collision. Bosland was flown to St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson. Bosland had injuries to his left arm, chest, and head. The incident is currently under investigation by the West Milford Collision Unit and Passaic County Prosecutor's office.
