WEST MILFORD – The Highlanders girls’ lacrosse team lost to Lakeland High School on April 6, making it four consecutive defeats to start the season.
West Milford was out-scored 13-1 in the first half before being held scoreless in the second.
The final score was 15-1.
Hope Calamari scored the Highlanders’ only goal in the match.
Going into the game, West Milford was coming off of a loss to Clifton in which the Highlanders went down 5-1 in the first half and were never able to recover.Mackenzie Keane led the team with three goals in the losing effort, but it wasn’t enough.
The final score in that match was 10-5.
Madison Vacca and Aleah Coscia also each scored a goal in the loss.
Before that game, West Milford lost in another landslide against River Dell on April 2 by a final score of 14-2.
Zoe Starr led the Highlanders in scoring in that match, recording the team’s only two goals.
The week’s three defeats followed the season opening loss to Demarest.
West Milford was scheduled to travel to Ramsey next on April 9, where they will try to get in the win column against the Rams.
