TAKE FIVE WITH HANNAH CARVER

| 30 Sep 2011 | 09:18

This week we Take Five with Hannah Carver, who just turned 10 on New Year’s Eve. Hannah has been joyously dancing for most of her life. Find out more about her here. Then go to our Web site for our bonus five with Hannah. 1) How did you get involved with dancing? I first got involved in dance when I was three years old by taking classes at Planet Dance. Through the years I tried various different sports like basketball, soccer, softball and tennis, but I did not love anything like I love dancing. So I decided to focus my efforts on just that. I auditioned for the Eclipse Dance Company when I was in the second grade and made it. I currently take jazz, lyrical, ballet, and hip hop. 2) What would most people be surprised to know about dancing? I think that people would be surprised to know how much time goes into being a dancer. I spend three days a week at the studio for a total of about 6-7 hours a week. 3) Share a favorite moment with your team/group. My favorite moment with my dance company was winning first place for our float in the 75th anniversary parade for West Milford. 4) What is your favorite movie and why? My favorite movie is The Last Song. I love this movie because it shows that people can change and that you should never give up. 5) Share something no one knows about you. There are two things that people might not know about me, I love taking piano lessons and I also love to go to work with my mom at Van Dyk at Bald Eagle Commons and visit with the residents that live there. Nice going Hannah. Dancing is a happy activity and you certainly seem like a happy, upbeat young lady. Do you know someone who should be featured here for a Take Five? E-mail us at njoffice@strausnews.com and nominate them. You can even nominate yourself. We want to show just how special our young people are.
