Take Five with Olivia Schultz

| 30 Sep 2011 | 09:30

This week we Take Five with Olivia Schultz, a Highlander senior who has some pretty diverse interests. She’s a member of both the field hockey and basketball teams, is the student council president for the senior class and likes a good lip balm. 1) What would most people be surprised to know about field hockey? Most people do not know that field hockey is only a girls sport, and we wear kilts instead of shorts. 2) Share a favorite moment with your team. This past summer many of the girls on the team came to East Stroudsburg University’s field hockey camp. Over the week, not only did we develop new field hockey skills, but we grew closer with each other and made memories. It was a great bonding experience for the team; we went as teammates and left as a family. 3) What are your long-term goals? Next year I plan on attending college and studying biomedical engineering. I hope to be able to continue playing field hockey. 4) Name three things you would bring with you if you were on a deserted island. If I was on a deserted island I would bring my iPod, chapstick, and a good book. 5) What is your favorite book and why? My favorite book is “Three Cups of Tea.” It is an inspiring book about one man’s mission to promote peace. Olivia certainly knows what’s important in life. Be sure to go to our Web site, www.westmilfordmessenger.com to read our bonus five with Olivia. Do you know someone who would be featured here? A wonderful volunteer? Terrific musician? Talented athlete? Drop us a line at njoffice@strausnews.com and tell us who and why. We’ll feature kids from elementary school through college. We want to feature all of the kids who do such good things in our community.
