June 28, 2011 After a lengthy investigation it was determined that Lisa Bylsma, 42, and Aja Beck, 29, both of Sussex, obtained prescription drugs illegally by forging prescriptions. Both were charged with numerous counts of obtaining Controlled dangerous substance (CDS) by fraud. Sept. 14, 2011 Magda Sanchez of Middletown, N.Y., fraudulently cashed numerous checks while working as a bookkeeper for a local business. The 17 checks that were cashed totaled $13,633. Sanchez, 39, was charged with theft by unlawful taking and obtaining by fraud. Sept. 21, 2011 A home on Point Breeze Drive was burglarized. Numerous items were stolen including coins, an i-Touch, and several jewelry items. A juvenile petition was filed against a juvenile, 16, for possession of stolen property. Oct. 10, 2011 A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Susan Hopper, 35, of Newfoundland, at Route 23 North and Cross Road. She was advised that the officers were in possession of a search warrant and she and a passenger were removed from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle found cocaine, prescription drugs, and drug paraphernalia. A subsequent search of her home also turned up controlled dangerous substances and drug paraphernalia. Hopper was charged with distribution of cocaine, possession of controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession of marijuana, use or possession with intent to use pending a future court date. Oct. 18, 2011 Ian Michael Jennings, 19, of Hewitt was found to be in possession of marijuana and pipes used to ingest marijuana, while parked on Union Valley Road. He was charged with possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. Oct. 19, 2011 Patricia K. Bush, 30, of Hewitt was traveling east on Greenwood Lake Turnpike when Juan M. Tenesaca-Quito, 37, of Hyattsville, Md., traveling west, entered her lane of travel and struck her. Lauren Ashley, 24, of West Milford was traveling behind Bush and was unable to avoid striking her from behind. Tenesaca-Quito was charged with careless driving and failure to maintain a lane. Bush, Tenesaca-Quito and a passenger in Tenesaca-Quito’s vehicle were transported to Chilton Hospital for their injuries. Marco Mongillo, 22, of Oakland was traveling north on Greenwood Lake Turnpike when he ran off the road while attempting to retrieve his cell phone. Mongillo struck the guardrail causing heavy front-end damage. He was charged with careless driving, failure to exhibit documents and unregistered vehicle. Oct. 22, 2011 Pamela S. Delcampo, 27, of Hewitt was traveling north on Union Valley Road when her vehicle crossed over the center line and struck a large rock located off the southbound shoulder. The vehicle flipped on its right side and slid approximately 25 feet before tipping back on its wheels and coming to rest in the southbound lane. Delcampo was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to submit to breath tests and failure to keep right pending a future court date. Nelson R. Nelson, 28, of Roselle was traveling south on Union Valley Road on a 2003 Harley motorcycle. In a curve to the left, Nelson’s motorcycle left the roadway to the right, lost control in the soft shoulder, struck the guard rail face, was ejected, tumbled along the top of the metal guide rail and came to rest on the ground just underneath the guide rail. West Milford First Aid Squad #48 and ALS #901 responded to the scene. Due to the extent of his injuries, Nelson was airlifted by North Star to Morristown Memorial Hospital. He was issued a summons for failure to wear a helmet. Oct. 25, 2011 Richard Corter, West Milford, Age 25 Richard Corter, 25 of West Milford was found on Poplar Grove Terrace to be in possession of heroin, a hypodermic syringe and was also charged with defiant trespass. Alexa Demarest, 19, of West Milford was found to be in possession of heroin, a hypodermic syringe and also charged with defiant trespass. Nov. 1, 2011 Bibiana Ahern, 42 of Westfield was traveling northbound on Canistear Road. The vehicle veered off the road to the right, traveled on snow-covered grass, and struck a utility pole, causing the vehicle to overturn. The vehicle came to rest overturned with Ahern injured and trapped in the vehicle. Vernon Township Fire and West Milford Fire companies responded to the scene to assist with removing Ahern and securing the road. Vernon Twp. Ambulance #710 responded and transported Ahern to Chilton Hospital. Ahern was issued a summons for failure to drive within a single lane. Nov. 9, 2011 Haydee E. Macias, 36, of Vernon was slowing down on Route 23 due to sun glare and traffic, causing Melanie Klein, 28, of Hamburg to slow up. George P. Marchini, 77, of Newfoundland hit Klein in the rear, sending Klein into Macias. Marchini stated he did not see traffic stopped while reaching for his sun visor traveling at 45 mph. Macias and a passenger of Marchini’s vehicle were taken to Chilton Hospital. Klein was taken to St. Clare's, Denville. Nov. 11, 2011 Det. Michael Malfetti conducted a motor vehicle stop on Macopin Road near Northwood Drive. The vehicle had a donut tire on the right rear that was bent, deeming the car unsafe. As the officer approached the driver side of the vehicle, the passenger door opened and Shane VanDunk, 28, of Hewitt exited the vehicle. VanDunk had outstanding warrants. The driver was advised of the reason for the stop. VanDunk was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrants. He was handcuffed and was asked if he had any weapons or contraband. He advised the officer that he had two syringes in the front pocket of his jacket. The syringes and a small silver metal cooking spoon was retrieved. VanDunk was charged with possession drug paraphernalia. He was released with a future court date. Nov. 14, 2011 Kevin Sensback, 25, of Colchester, Vt., and Douglas Kilpatrick, 24, of Branchville were stopped at a stop sign on Union Valley Road when Rose Mahaydik, 76, of West Milford struck the rear of Kilpatrick’s vehicle causing him to strike the rear of Sensbach’s vehicle. West Milford First Aid Squad transported Mahaydik to Chilton Hospital for her injuries. Nov. 17, 2011 Police Dispatch received several 911 calls in regards to Susan Oyer, 58, of Stockholm traveling north on Route 23 and swerving all over the roadway. Officer Anthony Frassa located her vehicle in the vicinity of Oak Ridge Road. He observed her failing to maintain her lane of travel, crossing over the fog line several times. Officer Frassa conducted a motor vehicle stop on Oyer. While speaking with her. Frassa detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from within her vehicle. Oyer was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing. She was charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to use, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, failure to keep right, following too closely, failure to exhibit documents and oerating a motor vehicle in possession of controlled dangerous substance, pending a future court date. Nov. 21, 2011 After returning home from vacation, residents of a home on Westbrook Road found that someone had entered their residence while they were away and ransacked the bedrooms. Several pieces of expensive jewelry and coins were stolen. Sean Grass, 23, of West Milford was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief. Nov. 24, 2011 At approximately 1:50 a.m., police Officer Nicholas Snook initiated a motor vehicle stop after observing Rachel Collinge, 22, of Vernon making an unsafe lane change, nearly hitting a second vehicle traveling on Route 23. Collinge was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated and unsafe lane change pending a future court date. Brittany Webber, 21, of Newfoundland was traveling south on Warwick Turnpike when she hit a patch of ice while negotiating a curve. Webber’s vehicle crossed into the northbound lane, struck a guardrail, traveled across the southbound lane, and ran off the roadway down an embankment striking a tree. Webber freed herself from the vehicle prior to the officer arriving and was transported to Chilton Hospital by West Milford First Aid Squad. Nov. 25, 2011 Kenneth Davis, 42, of Teaneck was negotiating a curve on Clinton Road, traveling at an unsafe speed and ran off the roadway, traveling approximately 75 feet in the mud, and was thrown from his motorcycle. Davis was issued a summons for careless driving. West Milford First Aid Squad transported Davis to Chilton Hospital for his injuries. Nov. 26, 2011 Jason Hall, 27, of Paterson was traveling southbound on Clinton Road heading toward Route 23 slowing down before a curve. He lost traction on road gravel and his vehicle hit a concrete road barrier. Hall was transported to St. Joseph Hospital by West Milford First Aid Squad. Nov. 28, 2011 Police Officer Lewis Rose was dispatched to Canistear Road for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. When Rose arrived he observed both vehicles in the middle of the roadway. Rose spoke with one of the drivers, Gerard Farese, 52, of West Milford who was out of his vehicle. Farese stated that he was traveling north on Canistear Road when he stopped and flashed his high beams to clear the trestle crossing. Farese stated that he went under the trestle and cleared the crossing when Rachael Conway, 27, of Keansburg struck him. Conway was unable to clearly provide the events of the accident. She was attended to by emergency medical services and was subsequently arrested on scene for driving while intoxicated, careless driving, having an open container in vehicle, and failure to keep right. Conway was transported to Chilton Hospital for her injuries. Nov. 29, 2011 Patrice Millier, 37, of Stockholm was traveling north on Route 23, was “bumped” by another car and came across the roadway. Millier was asked to identify the other vehicle and he said he couldn’t. A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected on Millier. He was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated, careless driving, and failure to keep right pending a future court date. Dec. 2, 2011 Christina Grossman, 42, of West Milford was apprehended while shoplifting $27.45 worth of items from Shop Rite on Marshall Hill Road. She was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, and processed. Grossman was charged with shoplifting pending a future court date. Dec. 4, 2011 Sierra Harrison, 25, of Hewitt was traveling north on Macopin Road when her vehicle crossed the centerline in the area of Echo Lake Road intersection and ran off the roadway, striking a guardrail and pushing the guardrail into the drainage ditch. Harrison was not injured but was issued a summons for driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath tests, failure to keep right, and careless driving pending a future court date.
