New location of Snap Fitness now open at 20 Marshall Hill Road West Milford Finding time to workout is about to become a whole lot easier for West Milford residents. Snap Fitness, a 24-hour fitness club providing fast and convenient facilities, opened its newest location in West Milford with a grand opening celebration Jan. 3. Snap Fitness offers a 24-hour a day, 365-day-a-year exercise alternative for busy individuals who want to stay active and fit without sacrificing time and convenience. “We’re an alternative to the full-service clubs,” said Shari McAtee, former general manager of Crunch Fitness on 42nd Street in New York City. McAtee and her fiancee, Jim Caruso, co-own Snap Fitness in Oak Ridge, Vernon and now West Milford. “We offer the same state-of-the-art exercise equipment, but we are able to keep our membership costs low by eliminating services that a lot of on-the-go fitness club members may not need,” said McAtee. For example, check in. At Snap Fitness you check yourself in with a computerized access card. Some of that state-of-the-art equipment includes seven elliptical machines, seven treadmills, upright and recumbent bikes all with personal televisions, free weights, strength machines and plate loaded equipment. The Oak Ridge facility has two studios, including a group fitness studio where McAtee now teaches. Hip Hop, dance step, spinning and total body conditioning are among some of the classes that are offered for members at an additional fee of $10 per month for unlimited classes. Personal training services are offered at an affordable rate as well. “A great benefit for Snap Fitness members is that there are no contracts to commit to, and memberships can be frozen anytime,” said McAtee. As a 24-hour-a-day facility, security is a primary concern. The club remains locked at all times and members enter the club with an electronic keycard, which costs $20. The security system includes surveillance cameras and panic alarms in the club and portable panic alarms that members can keep with them during workouts. At low usage times, the facility is monitored with multiple surveillance cameras. There are five panic alarms that are available on site in the event of an emergency. “Snap fitness has been very successful in cities across the country,” said McAtee. “The affordability and convenience that Snap offers is something that I’m very excited to offer residents of West Milford and I want to invite everyone to come in and give us a try.” Memberships start at $39.95 per month, with no enrollment fee during the grand opening celebration.
