To the editor:
I want to sincerely thank everyone who came out Tuesday to re-elect me as your assemblywoman in the 26th District.
It’s humbling, as well as inspiring to have such overwhelming support for the things I am working hard to accomplish as your state representative in Trenton.
With the Legislature about to reconvene, I am continuing to focus on the issues that impact all of us who live in New Jersey.
As I mentioned during my campaign, I have been pushing for an audit of the $28 billion dollars we spend in federal, state and local dollars on education.
I will not relent.
I also have remained in contact with the governor’s office and legislative leadership this fall to ensure that progress has not slowed on establishing solutions to the Harmful Algal Blooms at Lake Hopatcong and Greenwood Lake before another disastrous summer season is upon us.
Local businesses were devastated this year, homeowners were denied the ability to enjoy their lakeside properties and annual visitors to our lakes lost recreational opportunities in and around these natural jewels.
We cannot allow that to happen again.
Your support for my reelection sent a message to the elected officials in Trenton that we are not giving up the fight to ensure state government does what is responsible and right by the people of New Jersey, particularly those who I represent in Morris, Essex and Passaic counties.
Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce, R-26
