To the Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions (ANJEC) and members of our local township administration.
First of all, ANJEC, who has been kind enough to award West Milford with a $1,462 grant to purchase items necessary to continue to take and monitor water samples and analyze them for excessive nitrates and phosphates in Belchers Creek.
This has been an ongoing event by the West Milford Environmental Commission over the past number of years with great success.
Next, Council President Pete McGuinness who has helped us find an adequate location on the creek to have access for our testing.
Finally, Ed Steines and our Department of Public Works, who cut and cleared brush, and cleaned up our Environmental Boardwalk on Maple Road.
This is a must see for our residents to take in the sites of nature at its best.
Parking is available across the street by Maple Road School and a short walk across Maple Road to the Boardwalk.
It is a great place for nature lovers and students to observe the wildlife and vegetation of a pristine wetland.
For information on any of these items please check our website listed on the township website.
Stephen Sangle,
Chairman West Milford Environmental Commission
