This year West Milford is blessed to have such strong field of Board of Education candidates to choose from.
Each candidate appears to have the right motivation to run, and each sees the connection that exists between higher test scores, increased home values, and all desire to improve our children’s educational experience.
Steve C. Drew is uniquely qualified to address the many complex issues facing our township’s school system.
I had the honor as a Township Councilman to serve with Mr. Drew on the Economic Development Commission for several years starting in 2014.
It was during this time frame that Steve Drew began studying the needs of West Milford in earnest.
He concluded that improving the quality education that our students receive will improve our test scores, which will improve our home values.
These improvements will inspire new families to move into town to raise families and this will improve our local economy.
Steve Drew is himself a great lover of learning.
He values education as a means in which to uplift our society by empowering students to gain the tools in life to be happy, productive and successful individuals.
Mr. Drew has an MBA in finance from the esteemed Carnegie Mellon Institute and finished top five in his class in 1984.
His firm grasp of our local BOE budget will, if re-elected, serve our student’s and our tax paying residents as he finds ways to both finance our students needs without breaking the piggy bank.
He has championed, as a BOE member, the expansion of AP classes, improved college prep classes, he has advocated for opportunities for our children to learn skills in the trades, art and music opportunities as well as sports.
These extracurricular activities often have life changing results that help develop strong, successful, and motivated students.
Steve Drew has successfully insisted upon greater accountability of the proposed spending of tax dollars by the administration making sure that the money that is spent is done wisely and accomplishes a real measurable impact for our students.
Please cast one of your three votes for Mr. Steven C. Drew this Nov. 5 for BOE.

Former Township Councilman
