I just got the January 22-28 issue of The Warwick Advertiser and read with interest your article on the desperation of people trying to get an appointment for the COVID vaccine.
I, too, am in the eligible group and also have friends who are older and have medical conditions who are going to have to wait a long time for the vaccine.
I was therefore startled to see your back cover where you encourage people who have been lucky enough to get a vaccine to share their vaccine selfies and you will publish your “favorites.”
The only word for this insensitivity is shameful.

Editor’s Note: We appreciate Ms. Mushock’s careful reading of the entire paper. In the beginning of the pandemic we published photos of readers wearing masks for a weekly “Safe Faces” page to help our neighbors get used to seeing one another in face coverings. We plan to continue running our “Vaccine Shot” page to foster this same sense of community and to salute those who are doing their part to stamp out the virus. We hope to see many more submissions as vaccines become more widely available and will continue reporting updates regarding vaccine availability.
