Only in our nation can a pandemic and vaccine be reduced to a competition among the citizens for the delivery of care and vaccine.
It should not come as a surprise since most health care is delivered to Americans via insurance companies who determine the course of benefits via employers.
How did we become so enthralled with our greatness and overlook the realities of life?
I am amazed at the stupidity of all levels of government, the lack to prior planning and the structure lacking to deliver Americans the basic health of life.
This coincides tangentially with those who feel that a few months from now the insurrection carried out upon all of us at the Capitol will minimize the severity of its threat and should be dealt with justice no matter how long it takes.
The notion that our courts will be overloaded only plays to the simplistic, servile and craven notions of the world that produce sinister figures like Cruz and Hawley who long and yearn for power without the democratic accord of justice and service to their constituents.
So, although at age 78 as a veteran, husband, son, grandson, grandfather, educator for 40 years, married for 53 years ... it should not come as a surprise that during a singular tragedy ... our pandemic that we as a society are found to be again victims of our own selfishness, singularity and lack of concscience/organization ... to deal with an issue in a fair, equitable and competent manner.
And so tomorrow, we the aged go back on our computers and compete to acquire a vaccine shot.
This is America.
